Carousel

Here I am by myself, on my own

Riding a carousel that would not halt

Round and round, over and over again

Spinning in cycles going in circles

Without a definite ending, crazed for the standstill

People coming and going, this scenario repeating

I become blind when they come

Quick to respond and give it my all

To those different men, those numerous faces

Who stay no more than a while

Be it a few hours, a day or a week

Desolate in this rotation I have not held a single heart

But, every time wishing he would be the one

Someone sincere that I would cherish

To confide in and serenade me with a song

Then romance that would blossom and wilt to the end

Together we shall ride along no matter what course

Pursuing our goals with no illusions

Yet up to now, here I am still alone

Never thought I would be here

For life seemed to hold much promise then

The entire world was my playground

Or was I completely wrong?

This is not easy, here left with no one to stay

Even at times held by someone I am still lonesome

Have been asking for a long time

When will I stop riding in circles and step down for good?

Waiting on the edge, have I been too reckless?

Reality is crashing down

This is not coming out right

With all these thinking, through these musings

I cannot figure it out

Do not know where to go from here

But, on and on
